What do board games, video games and social media games have in common?? They all provide a platform where you have the opportunity to harness your power, set clear intentions, and manifest glory! Games have been doing this since before Monopoly and Pac-man. Children’s games like Knucklebones and Ball and Cup still used the same agenda as today — survival of the fittest. Nowadays, thanks to technology, we have virtual games hosted on social media sites that make gaming much more accessible, attractive and challenging.
Gaming has always been known to positively transform lives that were once messy and decaying. However, despite their ability to completely change our external view of reality, they have developed quite an unfavorable reputation over the last few decades. But why exactly? Engaging in gaming pulls you out of your current, most prevalent thought process, moving you into a new, diverse reality and creating a pleasant, seemingly intangible experience. Now, I am in no way advocating escapism through gaming, so use your best judgement.
At the beginning of a new game that you have never played before, you learn how the game works. You’ll meet characters, discover an agenda, and mess up the controls. Once you’ve played a few rounds, you’ll start to realize that you need to play smarter, not harder, and make strategic moves to get ahead. You’ve finally figured out the method of the game, predicting curves, implementing your winning tactics, and advancing to the next level! If you think about it, gaming is very similar to our human experience on Earth. When we enter the human body, we find that there are a few universal rules that get us started, but the rest is learned through experience, strategy, and pure intuition.
When we play games, we immediately express the intention (usually to ourselves) that we will win. Or at least try to win, right?? And even if we’re not entirely clear at the beginning of the game whether we want to win or just play to enjoy the process, we still have the option to revise that intention later in the game. When this happens, we usually end up surprising ourselves and the other players who obviously didn’t see us sneaking up from behind! This happens all the time in life. Think about when you or someone you know was aimlessly wandering through life, just living, only to change your focus in your mid-20s and leave an impact on everyone they know!
Games allow us to see how powerful creators we can really be. Passion infuses our every move as we speculate on prime movers and demand decisive action. Although failures are not a big disappointment — we know that if we weave a level it will never end because we can start again. Life shares these similarities with gaming as well. When you have the desire to accomplish your goals, you consider the forks in the road, take action that is purely inspired to get you there, and know that there is always more than one chance to get there.
There is a final part of gaming that allows us to become adept at manifesting in our physical reality; that’s camaraderie and resources. Ask for help from other players and/or characters in the game to get life-giving amulets or disposables necessary experience and complete a successful game of any kind. Helping others may seem counterintuitive, especially if you have a competitive style, but actually gathering resources and expertise moves you closer to manifesting intentions! In the real world, this can look like having a mentor who can give you the tools and techniques to achieve your goal, or pooling your resources by asking friends and family to support you in some way.
So you see, whether it’s a virtual game on a website, a video game, or even a board game, they all have the power to help us become experts. In our daily lives, when we have a desire, we need to harness our power, get clear on our intended outcome, take action, and eventually our intention manifests in our physical reality! If we now take just a fraction of the focused energy we use IN the game and use it to win the game of life itself, we realize that be able to make even seemingly intangible experiences a reality.
