A Look at Ronaldinho

For every soccer fan who loves the champion, Ronaldinho is their Brazilian God. Not only did he become one of the best footballers in the world, he proved that he had enough talent to last a lifetime. This winner stunned the critics as he recently won the FIFA Player of the Year Award in 2004. Despite having a tough time growing up, the footballer pushed all the boundaries and finally got to live his dream.

Born and raised in Brazil, Ronaldinho grew up in a poor community. Although it was a struggle, his family stayed strong and started playing football as a pastime. Ronaldinho’s father and brother surprisingly started playing in an amateur team, which may have prompted his son to pursue the sport further. Even though his other siblings were amazing players, Ronaldinho had the same undying passion. Fortunately, his father saw potential that no one else saw. Ronaldinho not only had the talent, but he also had the motivation to go the extra mile. As a result, Ronaldinho was on his way to fame and glory.

Unfortunately, the road to fame and glory started short. Ronaldinho’s father drowned in a swimming accident when Ronaldinho was just beginning his ambitions. However, his memory would live on and push the future footballer to achieve his achievements.

The first big success for Ronaldinho was in 1997 when he scored over 15 goals in the Brazil Under-17 Championship. Since then, dozens of prominent teams have been dying to sign him. Despite receiving hundreds of generous offers, Ronaldinho did not feel it was his time to move on. He finally signed a contract with PSG in 20001.

During this time he moved to PSG to start playing European football. However, his new chapter only caused negative tidal waves. PSG manager Luis Fernandez claimed that Ronaldinho was too busy with club life. With the drinking and other interruptions, PSG felt that he was not concentrating on what should have been important to him. Fortunately, in 2002 he was able to show them that he was far from forgetting. Ronaldinho impressed thousands of people when he performed very well in the 2002 World Cup. Unfortunately, Ronaldinho wanted to move on and start the next chapter of his life.

After being offered $31 million, Ronaldinho started playing with Barcelona. The champion made an immediate impression on sports fans after he lifted Barcelona to second place in the Spanish league. Since then, Ronaldinho was awarded FIFA World Player of the Year 2004. Through dedication and hard work, Ronaldinho was able to break all barriers. With his father’s memory and words of wisdom in hand, the infamous footballer was talented enough to become one of the greatest players in history. Although he is now a millionaire, Ronaldinho still does not feel that he is the best player. He’s just the same kid he’s always been – ready to work hard and play even harder.
