Schedule For Cricket Match Series Between South Africa and India
Amidst the battle to retain the number one position in five-day Test matches, India is indeed keen to play its nearest competitor – South Africa. The plan was made at very short notice. The BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) requested the South African board for this series. South Africa also showed interest in the competition and decided on a series in India.
Now, the schedule has arrived and these two nations will play two Test matches and three one-day matches from January 31 to February 27. They will also play some practice matches in the meantime.
The full schedule follows:
January 31: South Africa (SA) team arrives in Mumbai
February 1: Team SA travels to Nagpur for the first Test match
February 2 – February 3: The SA team plays a two-day practice match in Nagpur
February 6 – February 10: First Test match at Nagpur
February 14 – February 18: Second Test match at Eden Gardens in Kolkata
February 21: 1st One Day International (ODI) between India and RSA at Jaipur (day/night match)
February 24: 2nd ODI between India and RSA at Kanpur
February 27: 3rd ODI between India and RSA at Ahmedabad (Day/Night Match)
It is clear that whoever wins the Test Series will retain the pride of being number one in 5 day test matches. India has the advantage of playing at their home ground, but South Africa is known for its strength to challenge teams on their home turf as well. We look forward to another exciting series where both teams will play to their full potential.
