How to play hockey?
In this game, two teams are divided and play against each other. Each team must carefully move the ball into the opponent’s goal with the help of a hockey stick.
• Keep yourself ready with hockey gear. Buy a beginner stick that comes up to your waist so you can learn and play comfortably.
• You should keep in mind that while playing hockey, your left hand will give the main direction to the stick and your right hand will be the main support for the stick.
• Your left leg should be pointed forward, while the remaining leg should be placed for support. You will need to bend your knees in order to aim the ball.
• Now all you have to do is, ‘catch the ball’. Here, try to stop or slow down the ball coming towards you.
• Now is the time to hit the ball and for this you need to make sure that your right hand is very close to your left hand so that the ball is in direct contact with your front foot.
• Try and bounce the ball along the length of the club. Try to work on pull-ups and turns with the help of any of your team members.
In the end, the more you practice, the more perfect you will become at this game. Once you learn it, you won’t miss any other sport. All sports are interesting and fun no doubt but as an Indian we should not ignore our national sport and should be equally excited and eager to learn and practice it. It is one of the important things to remember.
