Jaguar Land Rover – Back the Bid!
Jaguar Land Rover is the latest car manufacturer to associate itself with football. Both Kia and Hyundai were ever present during the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and it seems like this particular sport is one that all car manufacturers want to be a part of.
Jaguar Land Rover has become the ‘Official Supporter’ of England’s 2018 World Cup bid campaign. This essentially means that Jaguar and Land Rover will supply the vehicles to help boost England’s chances of hosting the 2018 tournament .
In total, the companies will offer the campaign with nine vehicles – four Range Rovers, one Discovery 4 and four Jaguar XJs. These vehicles will be used to transport members of the games governing body, FIFA, when they arrive in England later this month to carry out their inspections.
As well as looking around some of our biggest football stadiums in London, Manchester and Birmingham, they will also go to smaller towns such as Plymouth and Milton Keynes.
Two more Jaguar XJs have been supplied to assist the 2018 bid team with their internal transport. The fact that these particular brands are British speaks well for the image we are trying to portray.
Many famous faces have been linked to England’s ‘Back the Bid’ campaign, these include David Beckham, Lewis Hamilton, James Cordon, Jensen Button and many, many more.
Other countries that have entered the race to host the 2018 World Cup include the USA, Japan and Mexico. The name of the winning country will be revealed in December… fingers crossed!
